Line-up

The album's third, Turn Back, marked an reversion to the classic sextet format of the previous albums. It was a more ferocious, constant effort with an edge that was stronger than Hydra. The more edgy sound of the album was indicative of the maturation of group and featured drummer Bobby Kimball's greater virtuosity on drums, and a more confident, mature vocal delivery from singer Joseph Williams. Keyboardist David Paich's work also was more precise, sharper and less cloying than on previous efforts.

After touring to promote the album, the group recorded a live performance in Amsterdam which was released as a set of two CDs titled Falling In Between Live on Eagle Records. Downes along with the other original members of Asia–Wetton, Palmer, and Howe–convened an event in England in the beginning of 2006 to discuss the possibility of restructuring the band.
