The grey wire is located on the edge of transmission, just above the flywheel ring. The sensor transmits a signal via the grey wire to pin T55/49. The ECU then utilizes this information to regulate the flow of fuel, timig and boost. It also sends an alert to the G5 Tachometer within the instrument cluster.

The sensor serves as a reference for comparing with the G40 Camshaft Position Sensor. The ecu has to know when the crankshaft reached TDC, and where the camshaft lies to trigger the spark and injectors.

If this sensor fails when it fails, the ECU will display a P00160 error code. This means that the Crank Shaft is not in sync with the Intake Camshaft. It could also be a sign of an issue with the chain or a jump in the chain link of the upper chain. However, the error code won't be displayed on its own without additional information from other sensors (G4 and G40).

Testing is a bit challenging since there are two pins for the connector and they serve different purposes however the best method of testing it is to measure the resistance between the sensor and the ECU. It should read about 1000 ohms when it is at full operation. If you're having issues with this component, look for evidence of oil or coolant in the connector bay.

2. Injectors

Yesterday accelerating full speed from highway paytoll, i experienced a big cut in power as if the engine was running out of gas or injectors aren't firing any more. I pulled out the spark plugs this morning and found that 3 were drenched in gasoline and the 4th was dry. When I crank the engine without sparks i put tissue on the top of each of the injector holes, the 3 drenched with gazoline leap out, however the 4th stays closed. I checked the ground connection on ECU pins 14/55, 30/55 and 48/55. i get zero ohm. So i assume the problem is somewhere else.

I also tried to reset PID without success. The replacement audi car key can start when the G28 is not plugged in and is running fine when it is connected but it still has intermittent misfire issues at higher RPM. The temperature sensor for coolant (G62) shows the wrong temperature value of -49c even when i unplug it. Also, i noticed that the oil pressure gauge in the cockpit shows 2 bar, whereas the actual pressure is 0.0 when i rev the engine.

I'm not sure what to do. I think I've all other possibilities out. I'm afraid i may have missed something. Let me know if you have any ideas! TIA!

3. Fuel Pump

The fuel pump in the g28 receives a signal from the RPM sensor. The GM-style transmitter is identical to the G4 sender and works on the 80,100,200, UrS, and RS2 vehicles. It is easy to find a spare in a wrecking shop or a parts store. It is easy to test them - just put your DMM into resistance mode and measure the distance between pins 1 and 2 (with the bump on the connector's edge facing up). They must be infinite Ohms.

4. ECU

Our 20vt turbo (3B, AAN, ABY and ADU) engines are equipped with an ECU that has to know the speed and position of the crankshaft to make decisions regarding timing of the fuel injector, for example. To do this, it uses a Crank Position Sensor (G4) and an Engine Speed Sensor (G28). If you encounter a problem with either of these sensors, the diagnostic scanner will show the codes that could trigger an engine shut down.

A failing G28 sensor can cause an inaccurate speed counter for the gearbox, a gearbox that shifts more quickly than normal, or a misfire while in the gear. If you are experiencing any of these issues, it is likely that your sensor is deteriorating and requires audi smart key replacement. The good thing is that they are very affordable and readily available particularly when you're looking at an Bosch model, like ours. Alternately, GM's version this part is an excellent choice.

5. Tachometer

A failing engine sensor could cause a variety of issues in your car. It is a crucial part of the audi replacement car keys's transmission as it sends information to the ECU about how fast or slow the car's crankshaft is turning. This sensor can cause the transmission to fail and other components of the car to be affected.

The G5 engine speed sensor is situated on the edge of the transmission just above the flywheel ring gear. It sends a signal directly to the ECU at pin T55/49 through an uncolored wire. You can also check continuity between ECU pin T55/49 and the instrument cluster connection via pin T6a/1 (trace [79]) and between pin T6a/1 and the instrument cluster pin T26a/12. You should see a resistance of approximately 1000 ohms in these areas. This is a common feature across the audi car keys replacement 80-100-200-RS2 series, starting beginning with the 1985 MC and up to the 1997 UrS An and 1995 RS2 DU, so you might find some good ones in wrecking yards.
