Albums

Toto's discography comprises 13 studio albums as well as 4 live albums. There are also a few compilations. In addition to releasing original music, Toto has also done collaborations with other artists and on soundtracks for films. The group has won a number of Grammy Awards for their work.

Before the formation of Toto the band, members performed session work for other musicians. David Paich, the son of drummer Marty Paich, and Jeff Porcaro (the brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro and drummer Jeff Porcaro) all performed on Boz Scaggsalbum from 1975 Silk Degrees. The group's collaboration led to formation of Toto in the year 1976.

Turn Back, Toto's third studio album was criticized by critics due to the absence of hit singles. In 1985 the group's singer Fergie Fredericksen left, and the band held auditions to find a new frontman. Guitarist Steve Lukather was chosen, and the band recorded the 1986 album Fahrenheit.

In 1998, Toto celebrated its 20th anniversary by going through several demos and tapes from the past to release a special record called Toto XX. The album was a hit by fans, and the band embarked on a tour featuring former members Bobby Kimball, Steve Porcaro, and Joseph Williams.

During the tour for the album 40 Trips Around the Sun, drummer Leland Sklar left the group and was replaced by Shem von Schroeck. In 2017, Toto released a double-CD live set called Falling in Between, which included live recordings from the tour as well as an interview with Toto.

Toto is an American rock band formed in 1977 in Van Nuys, Greater Los Angeles. Videos

Toto has released a number of music videos. The band has released a number of compilation videos and DVDs. The most watched video by the band is ”Africa” which has more than one billion views. The video is set in a library and features the group performing on top of a book about Africa.

The track ”Africa” is from the album Toto IV. It was written by band members and produced by David Paich. It was a big hit in Europe and other countries. The success of the single helped Toto gain popularity after their previous album, Turn Back, failed to chart in the United States.

Following the release of the album, Toto went on a world tour. The group was joined by touring musicians Lenny Castro, Shannon Forrest, Warren Ham and 안전놀이터 Shem von Schroeck. In addition guitarist Steve Lukather released his second solo album, Luke.

In 1985, Fergie Frederiksen, Toto's drummer, left Toto due to personal reasons. The group decided to conduct an audition and ultimately chose Joseph Williams to replace Frederiksen.

Drummer Jeff Porcaro and bassist David Hungate were on the album Silk Degrees by Boz Scaggs, which led to Toto's formation. Keyboardist Paich was frequent on records by Steely Dan, Seals and Crofts, and Sonny and Cher.

In 1998, Toto began working on a special project called Old Is New. This album featured three new tracks as well as several finished recordings of old songs. The album was a huge success all over the world and the band went on a world tour to promote it.
