Honeycomb Honeycomb
Chimineas are an ideal solution for outdoor areas that aren't as big as the full-size fireplace. The wide base tapers to a narrow chimney, and some designs feature hand-crafted details to enhance the look of your patio. A chiminea can bring warmth and ambiance to any backyard, no matter if it's on a warm summer evening or a cool fall day.
Honeycomb is a wonderful wonder of nature, created by honeybees. It's a hexagonal structure composed of beeswax and perfectly organized. It's also one of the most useful parts of the honeybee hive. Honeycomb structures are employed in a wide range of engineering and scientific fields.
Honeycomb is used by the hive to serve three reasons as a nursery to breed new bees, as a place to store and transform pollen into ”beebread” and, finally, for a long-term storage facility for nectar. If a hive has a swarm, the bees create a new hive using honeycomb as a foundation.
Bees create honeycombs by moving their flight muscles, generating heat that softens the beeswax plates they secrete from their abdomens. The bees then shape the wax into cylinders and connect adjacent cells on both sides. This arrangement is highly constant, which indicates that it's not simply the result of blind physical force but a well-organized construction behavior pattern. It's also an exceptional instance of convergent evolution, an instance in which the same pattern emerges in closely related species.
