World of Warcraft - Item Upgrade
Item upgrades allow players to increase the level of weapons and armor that are equippable. This boosts the stats of the item and can also add buffs or rerolls an attach.
It is important to remember that while you can upgrade magic and other common equipment, it is generally not worth the cost. Rare and Unique gear will quickly outclass the standard gear and upgraded magic.
Cost
The player must spend gold to upgrade an item. The cost of upgrading an item is dependent on its current level and the upgrade type chosen. For instance, upgrading a weapon will typically be cheaper than upgrading armor, since weapons require lower levels of skill. The amount of Gold required increases as an item is upgraded.
Upgraded items also come with improved stats that can improve its performance in different ways. This could mean increasing its attack power and critical strike chance or damage per second. Additionally an upgraded item could be able to offer additional buffs to the unit it is equipped with. These upgrades can be used to increase the overall strength of a group or a single unit, and can have a significant impact on the gameplay.
The items can be upgraded at any item upgrader NPC in the game. Typically these NPCs are found in major cities or questing spots. You can also find item-upgraders in dungeons that feature high-level bosses. You can also talk to NPCs in the garrisons of your faction.
The system of upgrading items in World of Warcraft provides players with the ability to upgrade the level of weapons, armor, and trinkets. This process is similar to gear reforging process in Mists of Pandaria or Warlords of Draenor. However, instead of using currency, players have to visit an item upgrader to complete the process.
Upgrades can be expensive, especially for weapons and armor. Based on the upgrade track you select, each item level increase will cost Crests or Valorstones. The cost can be prohibitive for those who don't have the funds, or are unwilling to grind.
The game allows players to play a reroll of an upgraded item using a special tool from the menu of items. This option lets you exchange the upgraded item for the level 1 version that has an additional set of bonus effects. This is a great way to improve the roll of items that have already been upgraded. However, it can be a waste of time.
Requirements
Upgrading is the process of increasing the item level of items that can be equipped like trinkets, weapons and armor. This improves their stats and can make them more effective in battle. Players can upgrade their equipment by spending the appropriate currency at an item upgrader. Players should be aware of the fact that certain upgrades require special requirements.
Early upgrades only increase the effectiveness of the item's base level. Later upgrades give significant increases. For instance, upgrading a weapon from level three to level six will increase the weapon's damage by two levels. In addition the upgraded item will get a bonus stat, which is based on the tier it's in. The bonus is a combination of a guarantee extra substat as well as a random stat that will change in value from upgrade to upgrade.
A player can roll an upgraded item using a Reroll Token to exchange the upgrade for a new version. The new item comes with a distinct set of bonuses, and is of a lower level for the item. The rerolled item will have different requirements for strength and dexterity. It is important to remember that the item rerolled won't be able to keep its original strength or use any wasted resources.
Certain upgraded items can only be rerolled if the initial item was a Unique Epic, Rare or Rare. Some exceptional items are also allowed to be rerolled, but their original stats will be replaced by an uninvolved bonus. Rerolling an item that is Rare or Epic item will result in an ordinary version, while doing the same with the Epic version will result in an elite version.
Upgraded items can come with additional modifiers that can improve their performance and increase their stats. These additional modifiers are not included in the upgrade cost. You can buy them at the Trading Post, or through other players. Alternatively, they can be earned through completing certain tasks in the game.
To upgrade an equipment piece, you need to visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine. You will require Power Dices depending on the item. (Dice 6 can be dropped by monsters 21+, Giants and Bosses; Dice 12 is dropped by Bosses). You will also require different amounts of Minerals, Erons and Giants.
Time is a factor.
Upgrades to items can be used to improve the stats of your gear and ship without the need to upgrade them. They're not cheap, but they can be a great way to boost your stats and not have to spend as much time fighting. It's important to know the cost and benefits prior to investing your money or time.
Each upgrade boosts the item's base stat in a specific amount, and gives a chance to get an additional substat. The additional substat is randomly assigned, and can vary from a slight increase in one stat to a much greater boost in another. It is recommended to concentrate on the most effective items in the slot first, since they will provide a greater return on your investment.
You can check the time required to complete an upgrade when you open your inventory and choose a weapon, ship or accessory. The upgrade window will display the estimated completion time and the progress. In certain cases you might be in a position to speed up the upgrade by applying a Glyph.
It is also possible to recover some or all upgrade components from an item using a special high-tier salvage kit that is sold by Black Lion Salvage and Ascended Salvage. However, this doesn't include legendary equipment and upgrades, which can only be retrieved using an Upgrade Extractor or by reclaiming them with the corresponding merchant of karma.
Rewards
The upgrade item of items rewards players with a number of items and currencies. Additionally, every upgrade can provide a random extra stat bonus. The amount of bonus differs between upgrades and is usually higher for rare items. Players can use a Great Vault search to see whether an item can be upgraded before spending tickets. The search will also reveal whether the item upgrader kit is an appropriate tier and whether the player could benefit from a particular upgrade.
In the process of upgrading the item will gradually increase to its next level but it's not always able to reach a full upgrade bar. This process uses Growthstones and Sollant but there is a 10% chance of achieving a fully upgraded item after just one cycle. The more levels an item Upgrader kit is upgraded to, the greater its stat boost and the more items it is able to upgrade item into.
Upgrade components can be integrated into weapons, armor, and trinkets to give an attribute benefit or an additional effect when the equipment is being used. Certain upgrade components also have cosmetic effects. Upgrade components are available through crafting, purchasing from vendors or the Trading Post, looting or receiving as a gift. Players can also retrieve upgraded items by using an Upgrade extractor or salvaging with a high tier salvage kit. Glyphs placed on tools for gathering can be freely swapped.

This alters the layout of the item's window and allow players to select up to six items to ”recycle”. The item will be replaced by an item of level 1. Rare and Epic items can be upgraded up to level nine, while common items can only be upgraded to level six. The upgrades to items are added to its base statistics. This means that they will not increase further after a certain level.
