WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades provide a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by 3. A random substat is also added to each upgrade.
Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless the item upgrade has a low requirement by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like the eth Titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the need to roll for a perfect model.
Recycle Points

Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapon. The Item Level upgrade used to upgrade the item will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create the enchantments.
You can upgrade your equipment at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader at least once every few weeks to ensure that your equipment is up to date.
The cost of upgrades will vary based on the current level of the gear being upgraded however, they will always be cheaper than purchasing new equipment from other sources. For instance, upgrading a chest piece from Benthic to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points, purchasing a similar piece from another player will costs 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used for tools, armor, weapon and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased by players through item upgrader mod upgrader NPCs in exchange for various currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor. button, which will display a preview of the item at its next upgrade level when the player has enough materials.
The cost of upgrading is based on the slot of the item and current item level and the weapon's price is higher than gloves or bracers, for example. Each step costs 15 Flightstones plus a specific number of crests. Certain upgrades provide a discount on the Flightstones. After an item has been upgraded to a certain degree it is able to be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower price.
A lot of locations offer upgraders for items which include the main island and some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade coupon and the chance to obtain an entirely new recipe. The discount for upgrades increases with the number of items that are being upgraded. It can also be boosted by having players complete some specific achievements or complete quests.
Contrary to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II, there is no upgrader for items in the beginning of Icewind Dale. Instead the NPCs that are available to facilitate upgrades require various methods that are both an improvement as well as a disadvantage.
In Season 3, the upgrade system has been tweaked a bit, with numerous new features added. After the player has upgraded to a specific level for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same item level will cost less. This is true even if the items come from a different set of gear.
The discount is available to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is reduced too, but it is only available once certain milestones are achieved.
Crests
When it comes to upgrading gear in WoW players have a variety of options. Flightstones are an item that is available to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more specialized and are used for specific item level upgrades. Crests are a key element of the Dragonflight gear progression system, which was introduced in 10.1 and are available in 4 ranks.
First, you should know that the crests can only be purchased for equipment with a certain rank. Each rank comes with an upgrade path that is different. The simplest and simplest upgrade costs 15 crests. The most complex upgrade can require up to 20 crests, contingent on the type or equipment being upgraded.
Players can earn crests by working through tasks at the appropriate level. This could be by doing outdoor activities or completing dungeons and raids in all difficulty levels to obtain equipment of lower tier or Mythicbosses of raids or dungeons with heroic difficulty for endgame gear. These crests can then be exchanged at an upgrader NPC like Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to get the appropriate upgrade paths and steps.
The new currency system isn't too difficult to use, but it will bring some modifications to the upgrade process. For instance, once a piece of equipment reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it will no longer require Flightstones to be upgraded. This allows players to upgrade their equipment to the highest level possible for all their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.
Another notable change is that crests only have one purpose and it's crucial to use them wisely. For instance, it's a good idea to use all of your Whelpling-rank crests on the Best item upgrade gear you have available and keep Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you're planning on making. This is especially applicable to trinkets and rings that occupy multiple slots on the character which can only be eligible to take advantage of the account-wide discount when all slots are filled with high-quality equipment.
