WoW Upgrades - The item upgrader mod Upgrader
Upgrades can give you boost in certain statistics. Each upgrade boosts the item level by +3. A random extra substat is also boosted alongside every upgrade.
The more modernized gear generally has a more value in trade, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or very high stat variance (like Eth titan weapons). Upgrades are not as important for those with lower requirements due to the requirement to roll a perfect version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by transferring the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of weapon or armor. However, the item used for the upgrade will remain in use for a long time and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can be used to create enchantments.
You can upgrade your equipment at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear up-to-date it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every several weeks.
The cost of upgrades will be based on the current item level of the item being upgraded, but will always be cheaper than buying new equipment from other sources. For example, upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points while buying a similar item from another player will cost 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are useful items that can be used to upgrade weapons tools, armor, and other accessories. Players can purchase them from NPCs of item upgraders for a variety of currencies. They can also find them in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be used on any tool, weapon or armor. button, which displays a preview of the item level upgrade when it is upgraded if the player has sufficient materials.
Upgrade costs differ based on the item upgrading slot, and the current item level. For example weapons cost more than bracers, or gloves. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a number of crests, with certain upgrades having a discount to lower the cost of Flightstones or the crests used. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain amount, it can be degraded and returned to the upgrader for a lower amount of the two currencies.
Many locations offer Item level upgrade upgraders in addition to the main island and some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade coupon and a possibility of obtaining a new recipe. The upgrade item discount increases as more items are upgraded. It can be increased if players finish certain achievements or quests.
Unlike Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II there is no upgrader for items in the beginning of Icewind Dale. Instead the NPCs that can be used to upgrade are acquired via several methods, which is both an improvement as well as a disadvantage.
In Season 3 the upgrade system was altered a bit, with several new features added. After the player has upgraded to a certain level of item for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same item level, will cost less. This is even if those items come from an entirely different set of equipment.
The discount is available to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required to upgrade is reduced too, but it is only available after certain milestones are reached.
Crests

Flightstones are an item that is available to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more special and are utilized during specific item level upgrades. Crests are an integral part of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System introduced in version 10.1. They are available in four ranks.
First, you must be aware that the crests can only be purchased for gear that is of a particular rank. Each rank has an upgrade path that is different. The most basic and straightforward upgrade route costs 15 crests while the most complex can require as much as 20 crests depending on the type of equipment being upgraded.

This could be done by engaging in outdoor activities or doing dungeons or raids in all difficulties to get lower-tier gear or Mythic+ raid bosses or dungeons with heroic difficulty for endgame gear. The crests can later be exchanged at an upgrader NPC, like Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to obtain the appropriate upgrade pathways and steps.
The new currency system isn't complicated to use, but it will bring some changes to the upgrade process. When a piece has reached the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it will no longer require Flightstones. This change lets players upgrade their gear to the highest level possible on all of their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.
It's also crucial to choose crests in a wise manner, as they have only one purpose. For instance it's a good idea make use of all your Whelpling-rank crests on the top gear you have available and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next batch of upgrades you're planning to create. This is especially true for items like trinkets and rings that occupy multiple slots on the character that will be able to avail the discount for all accounts when all slots are filled with high-quality gear.
