Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to certain stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by +3. Each upgrade also increases the random substatus.

Upgrades aren't as useful for the latter due to the requirement to roll an exact version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by transferring the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be made on any type of weapon or armor. However, the item used to upgrade will remain in use for a long time and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can be applied to the enchantments.
You can upgrade your equipment at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every several weeks.
The cost of upgrading will be based on the current level of the item being upgraded but they will always be less expensive than purchasing new gear from other sources. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. If you purchase a similar item, it will cost you 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade tools, armor, weapon, and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased from NPCs of item upgraders for various currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be applied to any tool, weapon or armor. The button will display the preview of an item upgrader mod's next upgrade level, if there are enough materials.
The cost of upgrades varies based on the item slot and current item level, with weapons costing more than bracers or gloves, for example. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with some upgrades offering discounts to reduce the cost of Flightstones or the crests used. Once an item is upgraded to a certain level it can be re-downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower cost.
Many locations have upgraders for their items in addition to the main island and some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade discount as well as a chance to get a brand new upgrade recipe. The discount on upgrades increases with the number of items that are being upgraded. It is also possible to be boosted by requiring players to complete specific achievements or quests.
Unlike Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II is no upgrader for items available at the start of Icewind Dale. The NPCs that can assist with upgrades are available only via a variety of ways. This is both a benefit as well as an issue.
In Season 3, many new features have been added to the upgrade system. Once a player obtains an upgrade to a certain level of an item for a specific armor slot, upgrading other items to that level will be less expensive, even when they belong to another set of gear.
The discount applies to all accounts. In the same way, the amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is also cut and is not available until players achieve certain milestones in their achievements.
Crests
When it comes to upgrading equipment in WoW, players have a couple of options. Flightstones are a currency that is available to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more specialized, and are used during specific item level upgrades. Crests are an important part of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System, which was introduced in version 10.1. They are available in four ranks.
The first thing to remember is that crests are only able to be used to purchase gear of a specific rank, and that each rank has its own requirements for upgrading. The simplest and easiest upgrade costs 15 crests. The most complicated upgrade requires up to 20 crests, based on the type or gear that is being upgraded.
Players can earn crests through finishing content at the appropriate level, whether that involves walking around and performing outdoor activities for lower-tier gear, dungeons or raids of all difficulty for items of higher tier or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses or dungeons for gear that is used in the endgame. The crests can then be exchanged with an upgrader such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and routes.
Using these new currencies isn't too difficult, but the system will introduce a few changes to the overall upgrade process. For instance, when a piece of equipment reaches the highest level of upgrading for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it will no longer require Flightstones to be upgraded. This is to allow players to upgrade their gear up to the highest ilvl possible on all their characters, instead of relying only on seasonal loot.
It's also essential to use crests in a wise manner, as they are only used for one purpose. For instance, it's Best item upgrader to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests on the top equipment available and keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next batch of upgrades you're planning to create. This is particularly applicable to items like trinkets and rings that fill multiple slots. The account-wide discount is only applicable when all slots on the character are filled with high-quality gear.(Image: https://cases.gg/_next/image?url=https2F2Ftransparent3A2Fimg.clash.gg2Fe8989808d7622c7180272778141b43f0.jfif&w=256&q=75)
